Since this is only a couple of hours from home, I try to visit throughout the year.
While certain times of year are best for certain wildlife. Bears are greater in spring and early summer. Tundra swans, snow geese, and other migratory birds are greater in winter.
The blast offs are incredible to experience. Seeing the thousands of snow geese launch from Pungo Lake or when they fly overhead, is amazing.
Plus lots of older churches and other buildings. Also shrimp boats (will be in another blog post).
